Consturuction began on Sept. 16, 2009, on building a bell tower to house the original Vinton School Bell.  The bell was located by Mr. Patrict Stout, through the persistance of Mrs. Phyllis Mulholand, and returned to the school a few years ago.  The Vinton PTO, with the assistance of Mrs. Stephanie Neal, Mrs. Kathy Roush, Mrs. Samantha Wolfe, and members of the 2007-08 parent group, had the bell sandblasted and painted.  This project and the plans for its construction were approved by the Board of Education.  As explained by Dr. Charla Evans, Mrs. Mulholand and her family as well as contributors and supporters from the Vinton Alumni took it upon themselves to entirely fund the project.  Mr. Bradley Harder is currently heading up the construction phase of the project.  The group is hopeful that the project will be completed by the end of October. 

     Keep watching for further progress on this project.  This is just another examply of community stakeholders working together with the school system to support an historic event.
