What an exciting time!  Things at River Valley High School are in full swing.

Our new building is sparkling and ready to go.  The students will, again, enjoy a state-of-the-art facility.  The tax payers in our district are to be commended for providing our students with such a dynamic learning environment.  Our students, teachers, and staff realize the sacrifice that community members have made and appreciate the facility they have been given.  Again, thank you Gallia County! 

At River Valley High School, student achievement is our number one priority.  Traditionally, our students have performed well on state assessments and our report card continues to reflect the school’s academic success.  Each day, we provide quality academic instruction and intervention.  Students also benefit from a variety of additional academic opportunities throughout the year.  One example of an additional academic opportunity is the district’s academic festival each spring. 

As we begin a new school year, we also begin athletic competition.  I am extremely proud of our athletes.  They play hard and give up their free time in order to represent our school.  I am also proud of the student body because they continually excel in all that they do, including showing support for the Raiders.  The character of our students is second to none.  The Ohio High School Athletic Association’s sportsmanship program promotes the following values:  “speak with courtesy, act with dignity, and play with pride.”  At River Valley, our students embrace these characteristics and display them on a daily basis.

On behalf of the school and its staff, we invite you to become a part of the exciting things happening at RVHS.  As a student, parent, alumni, or community member you play an important role in the past, present, and future of River Valley High School.  Let us always be conscious of where we have been, where we are now, and all of the great things that are still to come.  Pride and tradition are two important elements in any school.  Thank you for helping us to continually recognize this fact and capitalize on these characteristics.
